Welcome to our Parish Website. We are a small but friendly congregation in the Anglo-Catholic tradition in the centre of York, just behind Micklegate. We are pleased that your interest has brought you to our web site and hope that we may look forward to making you welcome. At the heart of our church is the service of God. Anyone visiting the church will soon realize that it has been loved and cherished greatly by generations past and present, and that today it is endeavouring to reach out to new generations through the continued ministry of Word, Sacrament and service to the community. Set in the heart of York, St.Mary’s offers a wonderful space to sit and be still, to pray and to contemplate amidst the busy-ness of life.
Services have been suspended with effect from 3 November 2020 in accordance with government guidelines. However private prayer is permitted and this will resume at the church each Tuesday between 2pm and 3pm. Face masks have to be worn. Social-distancing rules and Touch and Trace registration is requested by all users.
St.Mary's is very privileged to play host to the Greek Orthodox congregation of St.Constantine and St.Helen and the Russian Orthodox Congregation of St.Constantine and St. Helen. If you want to find out any more about St.Mary's, and our upcoming events, please do not hesitate to contact us.
